President, Progress Testing Inc.
Responsible for developing and maintaining sales relationships with all K-12 customers within assigned territory. Develops leads and sales opportunities, and provides ongoing customer service. Closes sales and meets quarterly and annual sales quotas. Works with support teams to provide excellent customer service. Represents the company in a professional and responsible manner. Works largely from main office, employing technology to generate leads, make sales presentations, and respond to customers. No more than 15% of time spent traveling.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the sales of K-12 Test Maker formative assessment software and state-specific item banks to school districts and individual schools in assigned territory.
- Demonstrates technical selling skills and product knowledge of Test Maker in order to give effective presentations of Test Maker software both via web conferencing and in person.
- Complete understanding of pricing and proposal models.
- Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with school personnel and decision makers, having knowledge of and being sensitive to their environments.
- Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a sale including business partner opportunities.
- Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients of the various solutions the company offers to solve their specific and unique issues.
- Develops a database of qualified leads through website referrals, telephone canvassing, conferences/trade show leads, email, and networking.
- Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans and assets as needed.
- Creates and conducts effective proposal presentations and RFP responses that identify prospects’ business problems, the effects of the problems, and the solutions to their problems.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships regardless of purchasing status.
- Demonstrates the ability to research, gather, and submit detailed business information when determining pricing, and solving problems for potential customers.
- Maintains accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities within their assigned territory, including the use of ACT to maintain accurate records to maximize territory potential.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes internally and with all customers.
- Provides excellent customer service to all schools and school personnel, regardless of sales status.
- Maintains technical knowledge of commonly used hardware and software in K-12 schools.
- Develops own technical skill set on an ongoing basis.
- Manages and maintains business partner relationships within the context of assigned territory.
Job Specifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in sales. Education background preferred.
- Experience with site-based and enterprise software solutions and small, complex organizations.
- Strong understanding of K-12 education customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
- Ability to drive sales and maintain customer relationships via phone and web presentations.
- Proven ability to achieve sales quotas.
